Either by train or by car, in less than one hour you’ll reach either Genoa and its aquarium or Levanto, the door to the Cinque Terre.
The Tigullio Gulf offers rare gems like like Prtofino, Santa Margherita Ligure and Sestri Levante with its Baia del Silenzio (Silence Bay). And don’t miss, the stylish Chiavari with its historical city center with plenty of shops and elegant cafes.
Lavagna with its beaches , the longest and most famous of the area. And for nature lovers, I suggest that you visit Portofino Mount, site of the Regional Natural Park which offers trails, stunning seaviews and the monastery of San Fruttuoso.
In Leivi you will walk along the wonderful Cinque Torri Stroll and from the Anchetta Pass in a hour and a
half walk you will reach the Montallegro Sanctuary with 180 degrees view over Rapallo Gulf.
If you love the mountains best, it will take you only one hour drive from Chiavari to Santo Stefano d’Aveto (1000 high) and you’ll trek on Groppo Rosso ( 1650 m high), Monte Bue (1700 meters high) and Maggiorasca ( 1800 meters high).
